Do you serve breakfast?
Yes, children who participate in the extended care program will be provided with breakfast. You are also welcome to bring already prepared food for your child, such as oatmeal, cereal bars, etc.
What time should my child arrive if he/she needs to eat at school?
Please have your child here no later 7:15 am to allow adequate time for him/her to eat breakfast and prepare for formal instruction beginning at 8:00 am.
What door shall I use to drop off and pick-up?
For security purposes please always use the side door nearest to the BFCA office to drop-off and pick-up your child or children.
What are pick-up procedures?
Please enter the BFCA office to sign in and out your child out using the parent and/or guardian sign out log (Brightwheel).
What if I have designated someone else to pick-up my child?
The designated person must be on the authorization pick up list. Once verified they should provide their driver’s license to the front office.
What if the designated pick-up person is not on the authorization list?
If the designated person is not on the authorization list, you must inform the BFCA office by email, phone or in person; then email or fax over the authorization for pick-up with your signature to BFCA at 713-729-0660 before your child is allowed to leave the school with the designated person.
What happens if there is inclement weather during BFCA operational hours?
If there is inclement weather during operational hours, BFCA will contact the parents and/or guardians and let you know when you need to pick-up your children. BFCA will follow HISD for school closures due to inclement weather.
What is the attire for Chapel?
Chapel is held every Tuesday and Thursday in the sanctuary. We ask that students are dressed in their BFCA attire.
How often are students to wear their uniforms?
Students are to wear their uniforms Monday-Friday. Students should be dressed appropriately to BFCA uniform standards unless otherwise stated for designated days.
What times are the cameras available to view my child?
You may view your child during formal instructional hours from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
